Jerry Roberts And New
World Karate
At age seven, Jerry suffered from a bone
disease that almost cost him his leg. He spent a year in the hospital,
a year in a wheelchair, and a year in a walking cast. He realized at an
early age the value of health that most people take for granted. He
played four sports in high school while earning eleven varsity letters.
He went on to play basketball in college while continuing to hone his
athletic skills. During the 1980's Jerry won over three hundred
tournaments, forty grand championships, and several national titles.
In
the 1990's he topped all of those marks winning over five hundred
tournaments, fifty grand championships, and again several national
titles. In 1993 he won the prestigious
title of North American Sport
Karate Heavyweight Champion. He also acheived the Professional Karate
Commision National Heavyweight Champion. Also, in 1995, Mr. Roberts
competed in four Otomix Grand Slam Tournaments winning two silver
medals and two gold medals making him The Otomix Grand Slam Tour
National Champion. In March of 1997, Mr. Roberts won his most
prestigious title ever, The Arnold Schwarzenegger USA Karate World
Champion. He defended this title three times in the following years.
But his greatest accomplishments to date are the national titles won by
his sons Jared and Luke and many of his students.
